The raid ends in ashes. Anteiku is gone, Yoshimura is missing, and Kaneki has vanished. The survivors scatter to the winds. Touka holds Hinami close, vowing that they will rebuild someday, somehow. The ashes of Anteiku mark the end of an era for every character.

Still reeling from his transformation, Kaneki runs into Nishiki Nishio, a senior who seems friendly at first. But Nishiki is hiding a violent secret of his own, and their encounter turns brutal fast.
