The battle for Anteiku erupts in full force. Quinques flash and kagunes tear through the night. Touka fights like a cornered animal, protecting Hinami and the others with everything she has. Touka fighting to protect her home brings out her very best.
Eto watches Kaneki’s rise with amusement. The One Eyed Owl sees something familiar in him. She begins pulling strings from the shadows, steering events toward a confrontation only she fully understands. Eto pulling strings from the shadows makes her even more intriguing.
Trapped in Tsukiyama’s grotesque dining hall, Kaneki faces ghouls who see him as nothing more than fresh meat. Fear grips him as the reality of his situation sinks in. Far away, his friends at Anteiku begin to notice he never came home. This is where the story takes a truly dark turn, and there is…
Kaneki walks away from the battlefield carrying more than wounds. He carries the truth about Arima, about the CCG, about everything. The lies are finished. What comes next is up to him. Kaneki walking away with the truth sets up a fascinating future.
Kaneki hatches a bold plan to strike at Aogiri’s leadership directly. His followers are nervous but willing. If they can cut off the head, the body will fall, or so the theory goes. Kaneki’s plan to strike at Aogiri’s leadership is audacious to say the least.
Kaneki and Touka finally have the conversation they have been avoiding for years. No battles, no masks, just two people who survived hell together. What they feel for each other needs no grand declaration. Kaneki and Touka’s honest talk is the scene fans waited years for.
The battle between Touka and the investigators reaches a fever pitch. Mado fights with sadistic glee while Amon watches in growing horror. Hinami, small and terrified, refuses to stay hidden while the people she loves are in danger. Every emotional beat in this chapter lands exactly where it should.
