Kaneki takes on the burden of leadership in earnest. It is not a role he wanted, but it is the one he earned. Every decision weighs on him, and he carries each one with care. Kaneki embracing leadership shows his complete transformation.
The peace does not last. The CCG, humiliated and furious, launches a massive crackdown. Investigators sweep the wards with unprecedented aggression. Nowhere is safe, and everyone knows it. The CCG’s crackdown brings a suffocating sense of pressure.
Arima remains an enigma, undefeated and untouchable. Kaneki knows that as long as the Reaper stands, no ghoul is safe. He begins preparing for a rematch he knows he cannot win yet. Arima looming over everything keeps the tension high even in quieter moments.
Barely escaping with his life, Kaneki goes to ground. Alone and wounded, he finally has time to think. The path ahead is clear now. There is only one fight left that matters. Alone and wounded, Kaneki’s resolve has never been clearer.
The CCG launches a major operation, determined to crush Aogiri once and for all. Amon leads from the front, driven by grief and duty. But the ghouls are ready, and the investigators are walking into a bloodbath. Amon leading the charge shows how far the CCG is willing to go.
With nowhere else to go, Kaneki starts working at Anteiku. He learns that even ghouls can enjoy one human pleasure: a good cup of coffee. Slowly, under Yoshimura’s guidance, he begins to accept the strange new life he never asked for. Watching Kaneki take his first steps into ghoul society is genuinely moving.
Anteiku mourns Ryoko in the only way ghouls can, quietly and without justice. Hinami clings to Touka, who swears to protect her. Kaneki watches it all, realizing for the first time how merciless the world truly is to people like them. The grief in this chapter feels raw and painfully real.
