Arima takes personal command of the hunt for Kaneki. The Reaper does not delegate. Kaneki knows the final confrontation is coming, and he spends every waking moment preparing for the impossible. Arima taking personal command signals that the endgame has begun.
Investigators Koutarou Amon and Kureo Mado step up their hunt, convinced the ghouls are closing in. Amon, who still believes in justice, starts questioning the cruelty of his own methods. The Doves are coming, and they show no mercy. Amon’s conflicted loyalties add real depth to the CCG side of the story.
Barely escaping with his life, Kaneki goes to ground. Alone and wounded, he finally has time to think. The path ahead is clear now. There is only one fight left that matters. Alone and wounded, Kaneki’s resolve has never been clearer.
Banjou and his crew find their place in the new order. The strays Kaneki gathered have become something like a family. Nobody is alone anymore, and that was the point all along. The strays becoming a family is the perfect payoff to Kaneki’s journey.
In the aftermath, the CCG claims victory, but it feels hollow. Too many good investigators died. Amon is gone, changed forever. The war is far from over, and everyone knows the next round will be worse. Victory feels hollow for the CCG, and this chapter does not shy away from that.
The CCG gets wind of Anteiku’s true nature, and the Doves start circling. Touka senses the net tightening. The home they built together is in danger, and there is nowhere left to run. The Doves circling closer creates an almost unbearable suspense.
The CCG unveils a new weapon in their war on ghouls, something built from the bodies of the fallen. Kaneki learns of it and feels sick. The line between monster and man keeps getting harder to find. The CCG’s new weapon is a grim reminder of how far they will go.
